Hi, I've recently (3 months ago, private sale) bought a Merc W211 E320CDI and I think I have an EIS problem. Occasionally it won't start - turn the key, wait for the glow plug light to go out, then turn to start and nothing happens. I remove the key and try again and it starts, sometimes I have to try a number of times before it starts, This occurs with both keys. More worrying however, is that it has on 2 occasions cut out while driving - no warning lights, it's just as if the car has been switched off. Fortunately I have managed to pull over safely - coasting with unassisted steering and brakes. I removed the key, tried again and it restarts fine. Does this sound like an EIS problem? Or what else could it be?
