It is possible. I have a customer at present who wants his AvantGarde trim replaced with elegance wood. The parts are all available quite easily.

when ordering the W210 Avantgarde , you had the choice to either have birds eye maple of a brown wood like that The name escapes me. Its not the elegance wood its called brown something.

Now, against aluminium I can understand, but would still go for Birds Eye Maple.

So would I, You could specify Elegance wood to Avantgarde models, a owner on my road has opted for this aswell, however it looks more like Classic wood to me though:

733 = Sapelli Brown No cost option on the 210 Avantgarde

Classic wood trim is Alameda which does not show much grain (characterless??)

My Avantgarde has the Birds Eye Maple but I prefer the Sapeli Brown.
I think it has much more charecter. Isn't that the wonderful thing about taste - some have it others don't

I replaced the Alu-Linear on my car with Black Birds-Eye maple, easy job and not that expensive ~£120 for the centre console sections.

Good job whitenemesis looks alot better than the aluminium, did you change the trim peices on the door cards aswell ?
