Engine Bay working Progress!

Nice idea, I am looking to do some kind of custom engine cover also as the stock no longer fits with the new intake and intercoolers.

What material is that?

Thanks, fitted the Induction pipes and inline filters last week but didn't like the bare engine bay. Fitted the cover today but I'm going to make another one tomorrow and change the shape slightly!

It's very tough plastic sandwiched between brushed aluminum. 3mm thick but very very strong. I have white/black and mirror finished material but thought brushed aluminum would look better

I think I will do something like this. He used the stock cover and modified it then painted gloss black.

That looks great, like the Colours as well, what Engine is that? Mines a Clk55 so had to work quite hard just to get the Induction pipes on, better fuel consumption and mid range. I'm going to design and cut brushed aluminum covers to go round the top of the fire wall area at the rear of engine next.

That is the same as mine, the M275 V12. We have even less room than you for the intake which is why people have used the location in the picture under the bonnet.

This is terrible for heat soak as almost all of us who have used this "scorpion" intake have found out.

I have a Wide body kit so I have more space in the front end compared to standard so I am doing a quad real cold air intake with 2 filters in front of the radiator and 2 going to the DRL location. My build is at WIDE BODY SL600 V12 if you want to check it out.
