hello guys I am a new member from Kenya and would like to know if its possible to use a half engine of a M104 3.2l (head) and half engine of a M104 2.8l?

You can put the 3.2 head on the 2.8, if that's what your asking?

hi guys, I'm a new member too and I have a similar question bout compatibility of these engines - m104 with 2.8 and 3.2. I have a 2.8 version on my E-class, but it's about to die soon and I'm willing to switch it to new one. 2.8 seems to be much more rare than 3.2, so I found it better to switch my 2.8 with 3.2. so, the question is if it is possible without complications? I heard that AT is the same in both versions.
thanks for replying!

Yes, just swap the engines over. If you can get the 3.2 ecu to go with it, fit that aswell. But it will run fine on the original.

thanks a lot! does 3.2 have some visible differences with 2.8? the road police department in my country doesn't allow to switch engines of different models and volumes. as I know, m104 is marked as 104xxx, and those 'xxx' means different variations of m104, am I right?

Looks exactly the same, you cant see the engine number at the side of the road anyway.

appreciate so much!
