Engine Dilemma

Just got myself a 94 E220 coupe. (180,000)

Has no history...just know that it has stood for two years. Engine starts and revs but have not drven it yet as gear box has an oil leak and no drive.

What do members think is the best course of action. Buy a low mileage E220 (say 100k) and swap the engine and gear box or buy a reconditioned engine and gearbox. I could do the swap myself but reconditioning the engine and gear box myself would be beyond my skill level.

Hi EMH as per my email, i've got an engine if you require, however waiting on one person to get back to me.

We've decided to keep my gear box (for my conversion) but have another 4 spd box available.

Yeah thanks for that.

The more I look the more I need.
I also need a wiper motor, two headlights. under tray, ABS pump, bonnet latch, set of locks, door seals, auto box cooler pipes.....I live in north wales and you live in london so would cost me £100 just to collect. I think I could get a whole car for £500 on ebay so might go that route instead.

Just been looking at your....sounds amazing....Are the connections for the electric seats etc already there or do you have to add new wiring. What i mean is if I find a car with electric seats are they an easy to swap??
