:wallbash::confused:I have posted numerous items regarding my on going engine management light issues. I have to re-cap so far changed the following:

Glow plug control relay
Glow plug number six
New rubber seal to turbo intake
Boost pressure switch

All of which Merc have identified with STAR.

Now the light is on again. The car ran fine from East Sussex all the way to Birmingham no dramas. Then on the return journey after sitting in traffic the throttle starting messing about as previously. When I lift off the car seems to want to keep going and there is a series of little surges. Then as before as soon as I turn the car off and then restart the light comes on and stays on. Whilst the light is on there seems to be a delay in throttle response and subsequently a lot of smoke under full throttle. I'm assuming this is caused by the delay and fuel getting burnt off. The worrying thing is that at times it feels like the car is fitting the brakes. Almost as though it doesn't want to slow down. It also effects the gear changes. They become harsh and hesitant.

Any help advice or even a suggestion of an expert my way would be appreciated. Its not a new car and its costing me a fortune keep taking it back to Mercedes.

It has to be plugged in again so i would suggest you post your location and someone will suggest a reliable, local independant

I'm in East Sussex. My local merc dealer is Eastbourne. So anyone on the coast would be great.

No replies as yet. I could really use some advice on this. Or pointing in the direction of someone who could offer some advice. Real shame as car runs great 50% of the time.

I would like to take a look. I am not that far from you.

Sounds great if you could help. Are you open Saturdays? I work away Mon to Fri.

I have spoken to the guys at PCS. All booked in, hopefully they can succeed where merc have failed so far. Merc owner 2b thanks for the recommendation.

Fingers crossed, problem solved!

I feel obliged to post an update. The car has been back from PCS a few days now. I haven't done a very long run yet but all appears improved. Olly was very helpful and the service was great. The car seems smoother and generally happier. We have removed two K&N filters that were almost blocked in just 5000 miles. He also had the re-map I had done looked at. It was found to be less than suitable for my vehicle. The car is now running a new map of Olly's recommendation and the difference is massive. So to anyone reading this, it would appear you get what you pay for with re-maps. K&N filters not a good idea for this engine. If your problems are not run of the mill get a second opinion before trusting main agents. Thanks again PCS.:thumb:
