Hi all.
Got the dreaded ESP/ABS light on yesterday while driving along dual carriageway at 60 mph, ignored it at first, to see what happened, next thing is the engine cut out, then came alive again, this happened several times before i could get off the carriageway, suddenly the temp gauge and fell to 20 degs, the rpm dial fell to zero, and another alarm came up "Display Faulty" after i had stopped, the display read 2 faults - 1) ESP failure & 2) Display failure.
I checked my owners manual, nothing in that, so i tried to start the engine again, turned the key, nothing, dead as a dodo, pulled the key out, refitted it and tried again, this time it fired up, set off and the ESP light came on again, so i stopped again, removed and refitted the key, re started the engine, no alarm, drove another 12 miles home, the fault as disappeared ??
I have read a bit on this subject, but still confused by it, how can there be a fault one minute and not the next??
Can anyone help with this conundrum?
Regards
