I believe you are correct. To let go altogether, you would have to engage 'Dyno mode' in the instrument cluster. This is, as far as I know, the only way to get nanny off your back completely.
However, there is a down side to doing this. Hope you have excellent car control and very quick reactions!
R-R mode/dyno mode - same thing.
I was playing with mine when the snow was on the ground a couple of months ago. Just deactivating ESP allowed some wheelspin (and sideways fun) but I definitely got the impression that it still intervened and would not let things get too far out of hand. Bloody spoilsport!
I shied away from the fabled dyno mode as I was acutely aware that it was still nearly a 2-ton car on a low-grip surface - and expensive to fix.![]()
With ESP off , the back will come round so quickly you won't know what's happened if it does let go.
You'll need the reactions of a Jedi ...![]()
Turn the ESP off? Living on the edge and that sort of stuff?
Not me
The manual says never switch ESP off, unless starting in snow or mud. And that's good enough for me![]()
can i put my W220 into this Dyno mode? or do i need to remove the ESP fuse to make the car playful
check and check LOL one life and its time to live itAh - young Jedi - you seek to take on Yoda, you do?
I have no idea what functions are available in the 220 cluster, but someone on here will undoubtedly know.
Don't forget to take some of those plastic protective seat covers with you. And possibly some wet wipes. He he.![]()
