Out of interest under normal driving conditions do you drive with esp activated or de-activated?

On but it does spoil the fun a bit. If you turn it off though its sooo much quicker off the line.

Does anyone know if the spoil sport sytem puts the rear brakes on does it also light the brake lights

It's never bothered me that much in the past but really annoying since owning a v8 although even when switched off esp is not fully de-activated afaik.

I believe you are correct. To let go altogether, you would have to engage 'Dyno mode' in the instrument cluster. This is, as far as I know, the only way to get nanny off your back completely.

However, there is a down side to doing this. Hope you have excellent car control and very quick reactions!

On, unless playing in the works car park. Tried rolling road mode, and that was quite scary. Won't be using that on the road...

No & no so just happy to turn esp off!

Rolling road mode?

R-R mode/dyno mode - same thing.

I was playing with mine when the snow was on the ground a couple of months ago. Just deactivating ESP allowed some wheelspin (and sideways fun) but I definitely got the impression that it still intervened and would not let things get too far out of hand. Bloody spoilsport!

I shied away from the fabled dyno mode as I was acutely aware that it was still nearly a 2-ton car on a low-grip surface - and expensive to fix. :)

I won't be scrolling through the instrument cluster & selecting dyno mode anytime soon then:rolleyes:

With ESP off , the back will come round so quickly you won't know what's happened if it does let go.

You'll need the reactions of a Jedi ...

ESP stays on with the Vito :)

And the SL doesn't have it :(

Speaking from experience then Howard?:D

can i put my W220 into this Dyno mode? or do i need to remove the ESP fuse to make the car playful

Turn the ESP off? Living on the edge and that sort of stuff?

Not me ;)

The manual says never switch ESP off, unless starting in snow or mud. And that's good enough for me :thumb:

The trouble is when something says never........................maybe it's just me:D:D:D

Ah - young Jedi - you seek to take on Yoda, you do? :D

I have no idea what functions are available in the 220 cluster, but someone on here will undoubtedly know.

Don't forget to take some of those plastic protective seat covers with you. And possibly some wet wipes. He he. :)

How much help is esp. I mean can I just cane it round any corner and the back end wont step out. ( within the laws of physics as per the manual)
