I'm trying to get some parts from ECP's website, but it crashes whenever I enter the car year (1996 W140).

When using the search, I get SQL errors
Warning: mysqli::mysqli() [function.mysqli-mysqli]: (HY000/2003): Can't connect to MySQL server on '10.169.201.203' (111) in /var/www/html/ecp/dbase/mysql.php on line 33

Is it just me?

That's a database error, the website can't connect to the database.

Hi Guys

The error was on our catalogue side of things - they uploaded some new data last night, some of which was missing or corrupt - this caused a backlog on the DB and took out the parts lookup function totally. (Not just online, but for the whole company)

The company parts lookup was fixed in about 15 minutes but we had no joy with the website lookup.

We took the site offline about 1pm, and have finished testing - the site will be live again in the next 30mins :)

If there are any other problems please let me know so we can look into it :)

Ah, darn - had my father in town who needed some kit for a volvo and an s-class...

Ended up going to Hellfrauds (which I try to avoid) as going to ecp in a store would mean not getting the 25% discount, while hellfrauds do their trade thing...

Oh well, next time :) Thanks for the info!

Darn it

Sorry we couldn't help - would be interesting to know what you got. And what you paid. I wouldn't of imagined Halfords would get close to our normal price letalone discountd price.

Good news is the site has been up since 3 with no more problems. Glad to see you guys are really on the ball

2x oil, air and fuel for a Volvo V70
2x front pair + rear wipers for the above

2x oil, air and fuel for a W140
tried getting wipers for this, this but they were on order only

2x rear bulbs (for my car) (the dual 5/21w or something like that).

The only price I remember is the bulbs (which were the only bit I paid for), which were £2.99 on the shelf and 48 or 49p once the trade discount kicked in (for 2 bulbs).

Next time in there (which may be a while as I tend to try to avoid them :p) I'll can post prices here...

On the bright side, we did end up going to the hayes branch of ecp for some more wipers/filters (tried calling but they must have been very busy). (in case you were wondering, my father lives out of the country, and grabs a bumpf load of spares whenever he's here)
