Evo (chris harris) have very very high hopes for this

It'll be fast ( and good ) no doubt .... but try as i might , i just can't bring myself to like the styling of the 1 series ...

It looks like it's been pre-crashed before delivery.

interesting its almost got four exhaust pipes ( two are shadows!)

...carefull this could develop into a C63 thread:D

It does have four exhaust pipes?

Sorry but I just don't do BMW's in any form.....

BMW are a motocycle manufacturer, I hope they don't start selling cars :P bit like a wood pulping company to start making phones :D

I have to say, my 123d was the best all round car for something fun and able to do 1000 miles in one sitting in complete comfort. My 335i was probably the best all round engine I have had in any car, once mapped it would do the sprint to 60mph in around 4.7 seconds, and still return 34mph on a very fast run.

The combination of the 2 should produce something absolutely incredible to drive.

I say should, as although the 335i is technically a masterpiece, being forced induction also made it a bit boring, compared with the M3 it was a case of press the throttle and go, completely effortless but never really exciting, you could dip the throttle at 70mph in the 335i and be at 130mph before you knew it with no drama and no fuss, your nan wouldn't even tell you to slow down, where as in the M3 it bashed through the gears and felt special.

So hopefully it will still feel very 'M' and not like a standard 135i with a remap and some stiffer springs.

I like the way it looks, and with it's size and engine tuning potential it will be an awesome car. Mercedes is not competing at that Market but I think Audi have also planned an rs3 with over 300bhp as well.

Mercedes not competing at the moment but the next C-Coupe will be a runner at this market. Wonder if the new turbo V8 engine will be making it into that...

I've always like all of the 1 series variants and would find it hard to choose a bottom range CLC over a bottom range 1 series, I think I'd go for the BMW. With more money to spend though I may think differently.
