Heya guys, just been trying to find some pics of a new W203 sport edition and there're very few out there and Ive ordered mine without even seeing one first! Because of this Im not sure on what the exhaust tip is and while I was looking for pics of the car I stumbled across this C55 AMG and fell in love with the tailpipes but as far as Im aware mine will be a single oval but i'd like to have twin pipes like the AMG but only on the nearside as quadpipes would be a bit OTT considering its not going to be the worlds fastest car (180K :o ) Im not fussed about the car being louder as I dont want to affect its resale value too much as its my first merc and im only young so losing as little money as possible is important :p Are there any tips available like this or could I fit an AMG backbox (if they make one for my car  )

On your Sports Edition (which basically comes with AMG bodkit/alloys and rear boot lip spoiler) the car shall have a standard oval tip/tail pipe on the back box.

In my opinion you shall need to get the back box off a C32 AMG. The C55 as you can see comes with quad exhausts so if you get a C32 AMG back box then this will still look great. However, barnd new the back box for a C32AMG is not cheap...

AMG tail tips (add ons) are available for the old A Class but in my opinion look tacky and llok no wheer near as good as the C32 back box...

If the car is still on order and is yet to be built (i.e. if basiclaly the order can be cancelled and you can walk away with your full deposit) then have a word with Sales person at the Stealership about them supplying you the back box at cost price to them and fitting it for nothing as part of the deal... ;)

thanks for the reply flash, I work for a broker and so Ive got a massive discount off the car anywa and it had to be registered before the end of the year. Most of the deals were only available on diesels but he arranged me a good discount on the petrol and so as for cancelling, I wouldn't because the cars already been registered and because the discount already is huge. I can however get the backbox at trade cost so I'll look into it. Is the C32 the same idea as what I was looking for? just twin tips on the left hand side and also would it be a direct fit? Im thinking maybe the chassis will be slightly different and/or the bore size of the backbox inlet too.... I just want to go down a route that wont void my warranty or kill my insurance really as im only young :) cheers for the help

Not a problem mate... :)

Back box of a C32 isa nice twin exhaust and would compliemnt the AMG bodykit nicely...

From what I know fitting would nor really be an issue from a decent fitter (some small alteratsion may be required to the fitting kit to get the back box to sit/fit perfectly but is very minor and a competent exhaust fitter would be able to do it easily...)

Trade discount will bring down the cost nicely...

Checked my AMG accessories brochure and only lists exhaust for C180 up to 05/02 (AMG rear silencer, twin oval), part number: B6 603 0819

Obviously yours is newer so probably no good!!

With regards to the C32 exhaust, anyone know whether one or two pipes go into the back box, as this may scupper plans for a 4 cylinder? I would offer to crawl under mine and look, but I'm lazy, it's cold & wet outside, it's half-eleven, and...

...my beautiful wife is naked in bed, and I think she's still awake!! ;)
