On the back of carnut's recent thread...

On Friday I was 100 miles from home, and so I hopped into the car mid-afternoon to get a headstart on the holiday rush hoping for a swift journey.

It didn't start well though. The convenience feature didn't return my seat to my preferred position, and instead remained in it's rear-most position, for easy entry. Oo-er.

It was still driveable but not really comfortable for a long stint at the wheel, so I used the 'Stop' feature on COMAND to guide me to an MB dealer on the way home. It took me to MB Kettering, who promptly booked me, got the car in the workshop, and sorted the problem.

It seems coins on the track can stop play - they recovered the coins and sent me on my way - worth checking if electric seats or convenience feature refuse to function.

No charge - despite the odds of me ever spending money with them being very very slim as it's so far from home. I actually left richer to the tune of £1.55 than when I called in!!

Have a nana MB Kettering. :bannana:

£1.55 found in the Mondeo would increase its value significantly; I would be tempted to leave in situ

:D

I'm aware that lenders are dissapproving of people borrowing money against a secured asset and then using it for gambling purposes.

But in the dizzy state I found myself in - I've still not come down from the high created from my new found wealth - I became wreckless and did something very much out of character.

I opted to withdraw some equity from the value of my car, and quite literally blew almost two thirds of it on a lottery ticket.

I've not had the guts to check it yet, but if I have won, I owe the tech and service advisor a beverage or two.

if you are unlucky the coins can cause the motor to fail .. like it did on my dearly departed CLK55

I'm disappointed those coins were not gold sovereigns???

Regards
Cheeky John
