There are comprehensive details of the facelifted/redesigned Saab 9-3 Range here for anyone whose interested. They are introducing some 4 wheel drive versions for the first time. :bannana: However the new look reminded me of these TV programs on plastic surgery that went drastically wrong. Maybe I'll get used to it? http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cf...g/saab/new-saab-9-3-range-officially-unveiled

Maybe,...... like the Bangle designed BMW's?.........
However, as the owner of two Saabs (9-5 Aero & 9000 T) + the Merc. I must say how far downhill Saab has gone since GM took over & started penny pinching.:(
Sad thing is, it need not have happened look at Volvo, Ford have not destroyed them!
So, I pray the "new" 9-5 when(ever) it comes out, is a quantum leap forward, rather than keeping a model past its sell by date.(the 2001 face lift should have been the last, as that was a good car) Or the case of the current 9-3, a raid of the parts bin /cost cutting too far.....

I quite liked my old 9-3 but it did come from the GM times and the plasticy look did not fit with the image. If they got back to their quality image, it would be an interesting option.

It seems to have followed the 9-5 lead, unfortunately that doesn't work either..

It looks terrible.

Yes the Saab 9-3 facelift was produced by the same work experience student who joined Wolff Olins....and designed the Olympics logo.

News Or 'Marques That Is The Question

I thought it was sufficiently new when I posting to put it in the "news" section but could have gone in other marquesI guess.

I had two classic 900 turbos and loved them with a passion (!) but the modern SAABs have nothing like the quality. I thought the previous 9-3 was at least pretty but this new one is nasty. The 9-5 with the faux chrome round the lights is even worse. What were they thinking? Very sad, the Swedes should have nationalised SAAB.

Whats worse is that now the 9-3 has the same interior as the Cadillac BLS, It's a shame, the new 9-5 should be an improvement

I wonder why GM are making big profits and Ford verging on receivership.....

the general rolls on!

Better creative accountancy perchance? Remember Shell I think it was with the "virtual" oil reserves.;)
