Anyone know what make of tyres blue efficiency models come from the factory fitted with?

Yokahama Sports V105's 205/55R16 91V MO Made in Japan. Recommended running pressures far too high for comfort imho but will help get you maybe another 5mpg.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is an MO tyre?

MO is a tyre manufactured to a Mercedes specification. Huge arguments whether there is any "discernible in real life motoring" difference between these and the same non MO labelled tyre. Consensus seems to be ---- not much.

The make of my tyres on both my cars were actually on the vehicles data card.

My car came with Eagle NCT 5, but that was in 2006 well before BlueEfficiency.... and yes the make was listed in the service book next to the options list.
