After a few recent niggles and a gearbox replacement, had been feeling a bit out of sort with my C 320 cdi.

Yesterday had a bit of a roadtrip to Scotland and back, 572 miles. Started off fairly sedate whils't hearing the annoying rattle that vanishes everytime the car his the dealer.

By the return journey was motoring a bit faster (quick, but not dangerously quick), listening to Drive time with Chris Evans radio turned loud with good music. Thoroughly enjoyed the return journey via M74 A66 and A1.

Car is superb bags of power, oodles of performance, and over the 572 miles averaged out at 41.7 mph (10.10 hours. minutes).

Would recomend to everyone and everyone!

Concur. Whilst i have had similar niggles with gearbox, and on occassions it is still is somewhat erratic despite having all software updated, the car is a joy to drive.

Still amazed by performance both whilst accelerating and cruising.

Car in for ATF change on Friday i trust this might resolve gearbox niggles further.

It's great when that happens.

I was getting a bit tired of my C230-coupe after 5yrs from new, and particularly having seen a facelift and the CLC come out since.
Had track rod changed & found/removed a wheel chock(!) which had been under my seat for some time & (surprise, surprise) the ride improved dramatically.
Gave me new faith in the car & cannot justify buying a new CLC (not enough gain for substantial outlay). Now after no signif mods in 5yrs, I have a whole string of plans for it to bring it back upto scratch & renew my enjoyment of it. Have changed to facelift rear lights & changed wheel centre caps. Plan to fit auto wipers, Satnav/new speakers, parking sensors, bi-xenons, possibly new bumper & new grill, plus get paintwork detailed. Should come all in under £2-3k & will be like a new car.

It still performs very well and, according to dash displays, gives better economy to 08 B-class!

Bit of deja vu on the same route, with the 2nd c320

Still a great journey, with some great roads. Gearbox ****** me off, never quite where I wanted it - miss the gearshift buttons I had on the last one, make all the difference.

47mpg yesterday, 39 today. Interestingly the last run that sparked off the OP involved a BMW on the A66 stretching it's legs, and again today...

Mine still puts a smile on my face. Have had it since new but I have to admit the 250 twin turbo is pretty impressive too.
Just back from a 2500 mile holiday in France. Only one hiccup. One one journey it twice gave the dreaded "hiccups" when pulling away fast. Once on leaving a toll booth and once when joining from a rest area. Next day all was fine. My only concern is that when this has happened in the past the inlet shut off motor packed in within a few weeks or so. If it goes again I'm going to insist they replace the manifolds too as Olly recommends. Well I do have a letter from MB saying that going forward the max I will ever have to pay for any related problems is 10%.
