Hello Mercedes folks,

First post here, hopefully in the right place!

I bought a new A35 in May and unfortunately it’s come up with a yellow tortoise intermittently with significantly reduced engine power when in force..

It’s been at the dealers for two weeks and they’ve currently been unable to replicate.. but can see it’s had faults in the instrument cluster.. when reduced it was dangerous to drive so I’m keen to get rid of the car!! Being 5 months old I expected better..

Has anyone had similar experience and been successful/unsuccessful in rejection? Just trying to manage my own expectations, I’m not sure I’d want it back if they can “fix” given its intermittent and no guarantees it would actually be properly sorted.

Thanks in advance,

Fenndogg

What fault codes came up to the dealer.....and what did they use to scan it with?

How have you got on with this - we bought a new A35 AMG last May and have had exactly the same issue since December 24 - car has been in 6 times and they keep doing software updates but that doesn’t work - have you managed to reject your car - we have tried

I thought Austin stopped making these in 1968 !

I was indeed successful in rejecting it, essentially cited the CRA 2015 around inconvenience.

I’d strongly recommend using ChatGPT as your solicitor…

It did take 3 months to get sorted but glad to be rid of it, terribly rattly and most unreliable car I’ve ever owned.

Thanks for the update - I will continue the battle - worse car we have ever had .
