Well who'd have thought it! Ferrari first [and fourth. Maybe this year isn't going to be such a procession after all?

I just hope nobody logs on here whilst waiting to watch the re-run this afternoon...hey ho.

Yes, I am still watching it on Sky recorded, thanks

Be a good chap and don't post the result in the thread title in future please.

S

May as well call up the BBC and ask them not to give the result on the radio too.... :):)

Knowing the result doesn't tell you how it was won, that's the interesting and hopefully exciting viewing.

I have done in the past.:p Seriously though...you can avoid media if you don't want to know the result...but it's hard to avoid a thread title when you are not expecting it.

I'm also tired of the BBC telling me the weather for tomorrow - it spoils the surprise when I wake up in the morning. A strongly worded letter to the BBC Trust is on its way ;)

Interesting and exciting are not normally words you would use in the same sentence for this or last years F1

Good to see Vettel up there too many write him off as an average driver which IMHO he is not, let's hope he continues to prove them wrong

It simply didn't cross my mind that anyone seriously interested in F1 would not have been watching/listening to part of it live. A UK 8 a.m. race start with a 9.45 finish didn't strike me as too onerous for any true "tifosi" unlike some of the middle of the night gigs --- but sorry if I spoiled it for some.

No chance!

It's a Sunday AND i've lost an hours sleep!!:D

No problem for real fans to be up at that time. Despite a late Saturday night I was already up long before that watching the World Cup Cricket final. And very considerate of New Zealand to get themselves bowled out only minutes before the race started. Just not so sure if it was only getting a couple of hours sleep or the copious beer and wine consumed last night that's making me feel the way I do now! :(

Well thanks for that !!! Totally ruined it for me. I may as well switch off the TV now.

So you didn't find it that interesting that you weren't able to tear yourself away to visit Internet forums? I thought it was one of the best races for a long time and didn't leave it for a moment. I promise not to mention the bit where Lewis got all ratty because his engineer spoke to him while he was negotiating a bend, nearly making him go off. Nor his complaint about having the wrong tyres put on at a pit stop. I won't say a word otherwise the race will be totally ruined for everyone.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise it was so wrong to have my laptop on at the same time as my TV,,,,,,,

Banned for having a laptop and a TV on at the same time.

Ooops, sorry; wrong thread.

A brilliant race and against all expectation that Ferrari would return to form this season - against FA's expectation for sure!
Thankfully, a team that can put Mercedes on the ropes and prevent another season of unchallenged dominance. The sport needs this and who knows, perhaps the Germans will even show some interest now....
If this continues then LH has a serious contender in SV though today was very much the re-emergence of a Mercedes weakness - their tendency to be hard on tyres. Other tracks will balance this with possibly Ferrari struggling to extract the best from theirs. Nonetheless, Mercedes would have cruised it and their vulnerability gone unnoticed had Ferrari not been there to push them over that edge. Mercedes will also have to reappraise their use of tyres in qualifying (a cause of today's upset for them).
Seeing Kimi take fourth after a disastrous start was as gratifying as watching Lauda congratulate James Allison for his part in Ferrari's turn around. Today, we truly got our sport back!

Don't you rather just think that Bernie sits in a room looking out over a large private deer park (or something else equally detached from most people's version of reality) and says to his assistant: "Let Ferrari do well this year but keep the thumbscrews on McLaren for a while longer".

I know I do. I even attribute a vaguely sinister accent and a noticeable facial tic to him while he is saying it, even though he has neither.

yes, he reminds me of

Yes, to the above.

No, to the above (though FA's optimism for his McLaren Honda coming good especially given his departure from today's winning team makes me wonder if he has fully recovered from that bang on the head....)
For sure Bernie controls everything - but not who wins. Not even he has that kind of power! Surely?

Probably yes to the above!

Just watched the MOTOGP race from Qatar.

Made F1 look like bad day an the M25. More action in one lap than a whole season in F1, and I'm an F1 fan!!
