Pick up next Wednesday. Auto, Sports pack, Cosmos Black, Heated fabric/leather, Parktronic, Pre-wire, 5 twin-spoke alloys. Pics to follow :bannana:

Need to buy a 6230i cradle. Anybody got one for sale or know a less expensive route than the dealer?

Thanks

Congratulations. Lovely car - well done.

If you want COMAND and/or IPOD, let me know ;)

Try eBay for the cradle.

Excellent, well done. Just got back in the office having borrowed my wife's 200CDI.

VIN number - not in database

Anybody help? Got the VIN number (and it is correct - confirmed it via an HPI check) but the Russian database does not come up with anything - appears that cars from late 2005 onwards may not be on there yet.

Datacard for VIN xxxxxxxxxxxx is not found
1) VIN was misspelled in the request form;
2) VIN was erroneously read from vehicle body or documents;
3) VIN is not of an original vehicle and was forged by criminals;
4) The vehicle was produced in late 2005 or 2006, and is not included yet in our database

Anybody got access to somewhere else who can get the details for me?

Ta! :)

Either just call a random merc dealer and ask them to search the chassis number or if they're lazy gits, pretend to be a trader and ask for the used car buyer and ask them for an underwrite on the car and give them the reg and chassis number asking them to confirm the spec while they're at it

I'd be interested to know what you think and how you get on, wifey is looking to replace her BMW Tourer in a couple of months time.

Congratulations Steve. Beautiful cars. You'll be well pleased.

Your dealer will have all the info on his computer. I checked recently with my local dealer (service department) and he showed me all they have and printed it out. Quite a lot.

Can only agree with everyone else

Seem to recall that you wanted to compare the B180 and B200? Drop me a PM with your number and postcode and I'll call you next time I am in one of our Midlands offices

No problem! If you've not heard by the end of February, drop me a PM to jog my memory. I'll get Mrs. Gollom to contribute too for a female POV. You know, handbag stowage, angle of mirror for lipstick application, height of heel possible for driving. That sort of thing :devil: :D Sorry Pammy!!!

BTW, was pleasantly surprised when I called up to change my insurance over - I'm due a refund of £50!! The B class is Group 10E according to the brochure

What a shame the pre-wiring doesn't come with a cradle? I can only say our vehicle definitely came with one, but that was a 2004 E-class.

Sounds a very nice car, congratulations.

Regards,
John

Y H P M ;)

My pre-wire didn't come with a cradle either ... but picked one up on eBay for about £25 ... don't pay dealer prices whatever u do ! (was a 6310i cradle, but doubt the 6230s are much more)

6230i is specific, so more expensive :( Looks likes £90 is the best I'll get away with! Mailed Jay73 but I think he must be tied up

Mine came with the 6230i cradle ready for the phone. Can't remember, maybe I ticked a box. I think the cradles were £130. Make sure buying off e-bay or wherever won't infringe the 3 year MB guarantee.

Picked it up and I think I really like it. Still a bit dubious about the bling! wheels but perhaps they will grow on me. Immediate observation is that the engine seems slighly less refined than in the C220 CDi, but again that may be something I tune out so to speak. The sports seats are most supportive and that roof is HUGE!!! Not really challenged the handling as yet, but the ride is certainly firm with very little lean.

One thing I did spot when reading the manual (sad huh! :o ) was that the C/S settings are Comfort/Sport as opposed to Winter/Summer on the W203 - so I guess it is C for economy and S for fun! Opinions?

Pre-wire is great and like someone said - use Parktronic once and you wonder how you managed without it!

Will take some better pics as soon as the weather clears up a bit. Gotta love that front grill though - I reckon it makes it look a bit muscular!

Congratulations,
It looks a really nice car and will we be seeing it in August?

The facelift W203's have c/s - the effect is exactly the same as w/s.

I have seen this car for real. Looks really nice. Steve started it up and I could not hear it, must be going deaf or its an age thing :D The roof is massive, looking forward to seeing it open as it looks very complicated. My only criticism is the wheels. A little too much bling for me, but that is only my own personal opinion. Steve has the cue for a quick fix started at your door yet :devil:

How do you find the ride now Gollom? Ours I would describe as choppy at low speed but excellent on the highway, steady and reassuring in the corners.
