2004 w203 C220 CDI (sold) 2002 w163 ml500
After years of looking at these for sale I’ve finally got one.

For my first car I always wanted a c32 amg, but think I was dreaming a bit, at 18 it would have impossible to afford the insurance and maintenance costs of one of these. I ended up getting a lovely c220 cdi, absolutely loved that car, quite quick and got a solid 45-50mpg on a run.

So a couple weeks ago I saw this car pop up online, after seeing how well it had been looked after (same owner for 10 years), I had to get it. Basically all the front suspension arms at the front has been replaced, new springs and shocks all round, supercharger has been rebuilt, renewed callipers all round, the list goes on and on. Engine and gearbox is smooth, having a full service history and the the ATF changed regularly. Only issue with the car is a couple of rust bubbles on the bottom edges of doors and on boot, but they’re very minor due to the car being garaged for most of the last 10 years. The speed of the car shocked me, if I had one of these as a first car I probably would have killed myself.

So happy to finally own one of these. Gave the car its first clean this weekend so thought I’d post some pics of it 😁FDEA3844-CBAF-464D-83EE-B04869A72E76.jpeg0CDD155B-0141-4BEB-B183-D576D67F9E11.jpegCADB1C29-7F4F-47DC-8330-307F00A457FB.jpeg90BB78DE-4132-48B9-A5AE-FAC51FB46B44.jpeg49224A53-DBE5-44BE-A383-4F1ADBB76FEB.jpeg

Congratulations. They’re incredible cars, one of my favourite of all time. Sounds like you made a good choice if it’s been owned by the same person for 10 years and we’ll maintained a worth waiting for.

Was it first registered in 2001 or early 2002? The reason I ask is that it has the headlights are from a 2003 MY car, and so would only really appear on car registered in late 2002 or 2003.

It looks like it has a very rare AMG spoiler. I only know of two C 32 with one, both members cars. Just trying to remember who else had one (I sourced it for them). They look great IMHO.

Enjoy and drive safely!

Thanks. It was registered in early 2002, the previous owner changed the lights to the newer ones, and he kept the old ones, which came with the car. I really like the look of the older style light, may put them back on in the future.

Ah right, didn’t realise the spoiler was that rare! Cool to know. I always thought most of them had the spoiler.

Looks nice! My estate has been gone a couple of years now. One of the last, with the headlights you have currently fitted, plus steering column adjustment joystick on the column and slightly different hot/cold buttons on the climate control. I owned mine from new, and only about 75,000 miles during my 17 year tenure. They are great cars! I still miss mine. :(

I always thought the 32s had 17” wheels and that has the later 18” 55s too. Clearly been enthusiastically owned!

Good spot! They did come on 17’s. I had winters on mine, and summer tyres on a set of almost identical 18” C55 wheels. Gives a certain something visually that you can’t immediately put your finger on!

Lovely looking car that!

I love the 18 inch alloys, use to have 16s on my c220 and they just looked way to small for the car. Didn’t like the price of the rear tyres for them though when I looked the other day 😭😂

Lovely congrats !!!

Here’s the original AMG boot spoiler, if I remember right they were £400 plus painting and VAT, that was expensive 20 years ago!

I did like mine but couldn't stop it rusting. however it has popped up on the other MB Club site somewhere in Surrey looking great, must have the wheel arches cut out and replaced.
