Well, my Vito, bought September last year, developed its first fault the other day which Mobilo (a tech from S&B Commercials, Thurrock) identified as the upstream exhaust temperature sensor. a simple replacement and code clear, apparently.
Duly booked in for today and cutting a longer story short, I have the van back without repair/replacement parts because, in addition to that sensor, another sensor located on the DPF "is leaking soot" and also showing an error.
It will need a whole new exhaust section (does that sound right?) because of the latter but I have been given the okay to drive the van until the parts arrive (up to 10 days?) and it is repaired. Does that sound right (the okay to drive bit that is)? My concern is that the existing warning light may well 'hide' a new fault.
All advice gratefully received unless it is to sell the Vito and buy a VW.
