2010 C180 Komp Sport (1.6) W204.
First week of ownership of our little C180 Komp is over and couldnt be happier.
Im more than happy with the perfotmance of the tiny 1.6, and it is so quiet and smooth without a single rattle anywhere, which is not always the case as im starting to reslise the more i read on here lol
Thanks to this fabulous site i worked out why my contacts wouldnt tranfer from my iphone, so found an old Android phone in the cupboard and the contact went straight to the car first time.
Ive never had a black car before and i keep smiling to myself every time i see lots of reflections in the paint, looks fab with the bit of chrome.
Looking to upgrade the h7 bulbs next i think but not sure what to go for, anyone fitted an aftermarket Xenon HID kit? Or are they best avoided?

All in all, couldn't be happier,,,,,,, well i could but i cant afford it

Glad to hear it!

I've the direct injection 1.6 turbo version and love that too. What age is your Komp?

May 2010

We initially looked for a diesel but the wife is the main driver and does the normal slow traffic congested commute every morning and only about 8000 miles a year the diesel didnt really make much sense for us,

Hi

isnt the C180 Kompressor a 1.8 supercharged engine not a 1.6 ?

The 1.6L M271 engine was available for a brief period of time with a supercharger, before the arrival of the turbocharged 1.6L.

The C180K became a 1.6 with the introduction of the blue efficiency models 2008 - 2010. It produces the same power and torque as the 1.8 but with better fuel economy. The balance shafts are omitted on the 1.6 to reduce internal frictional losses.

Welcome mate :)

For the bulbs, I'd recommend some Nightbreaker Unlimiteds if you're just doing a straight swap

Or if you want HIDs, get some facelift lights like I done or if you're keeping your original lights then get proper projectors fitted inside them :thumb:

Ok, thanks for the tips, ill look into the various options.

I thought the stock W204 headlights worked well enough but then I'm too old to get over excited about the colour temperature of the light. My disappointment was that there were not more LED's as stock. Only the high level brake light and the mirror indicators on mine are LED's I think.

Yeh i noticed the other day the indicators had old fashioned bulbs in them, so yesterday lol
Ill see how the dark nights go and if the wife moans about the headlights, if shes happy with them i might just leave them alone.

Stick some nightbreakers in mate you won't be disappointed

If you want the LEDs for your bumper inserts I've got a pair for sale :)
