fitting ashtray

Can anyone point me in the right direction,the car is a 1997 c180 estate and with no ashtray in the front just a storage space with a lighter connection in the back of it with a flick cover over. I want to replace it with an ashtray which i have bought but i'm clueless how to go about the job, plus i'm not sure if i need a glasses storage part for in front of the ashtray. does anyone have any information on how to fit it. I would be most gratefull

RE : fitting ashtray

I actually use the ashtray to store business cards. They seem to fit quite nicely. Just be careful not to let one get swallowed through the spacing between the top of the ashtray housing and the center console.
