...so how long before the police make him put it back to XCL 455X?

I got stopped once in ten years with my plate...

but I then changed it to be legal....

The MOT guys didn't give a flying fig as I explain the orginals are in the boot, use them if you wish. Never a problem.

It does look toooooo obviously wrong though....

Yep must admit mine is a lot more subtle than that only one mis space and original legal plates always in the boot.

You are right about MOT testers though couldn't care less. SWMBO car has never failed.

Only reason I got stopped was because I went through a VOSA checkpoint and the VOSA guys sent a Bike Cop after me. When he stopped me he actually said. I don't really want to do this but dont have a choice. Photographed the plate, gave me a £30 FPN few days later I also got a bo**ocking letter from DVLA. But thats the risk you take.

I saw one this week, WIL1114

The 111 was made to look like a M,
and in case you still could not tell,
WILMA was written underneath.

Living where you do - Seagull shi*te probably:p

sorry - out of character that, - but just had an email from a colleague who has asked for help to sue the States for not controlling the gull population after his paintwork was mortally damaged whilst parked in St Peters Port for the afternoon.

PS Apologies for going OT

hmmmm. Let me know how he gets on.

There is some serious protection on birds in this neck of the woods. Am busy trying to get the information for different reasons. But a number of claims would certainly help my cause.

Oh he won't, just ranting to me as I solve problems

He was on holiday in his car not the co car one, so I have advised wet paper towels a wash and clay if its a real problem - then a wax

He won't take it further as I won't

Mates in Devon where its bad, ALWAYS wax, every wash as it comes off then
