I have a Merc E320 - The vehicle starts great. After 2-3 mins of letting it heat up - I then engage in reverse to enter the road in front of my home. Then when I place it in drive, well this is the odd part. I need to accelerate slowly until the vehicle warms up some more...then the vehicle will change gears fine. If I just push the gas very quickly, the gears or tranny have a hard time changing & at times the vehicle will stutter changing gears. But after 5 mins of driving - all is fine. Odd? Any ideas would be helpful. Yes - maybe the fluid for the tranny is low or maybe the filter needs to be changed..I dunno -

There is a "cold start" shifting table which is used for 500 seconds after start-up from cold. The purpose is to get the cat up to operating temperature as quickly as possible. This is noticeable as a reluctance to upshift, and more abrupt shifts that normal - is this perhaps what you are noticing?

s/w

check its not in w mode as this will start the car in second gear and feel less responcive >>> ive done this many a time after cleaning the car
