footwell lights

hi

has anyone fitted footwell lights (front/rear) to their cars? if so is there an easy way to do it? i assume taking power from the door switches would be easiest....

i had this on my mondeo and it was pretty cool. surprised the merc doesnt have it as standard.... was it ever an option on the CLK (1999)?
