Formula 1 2025

According to a breaking story in The Times, Christian Horner has been fired.
Could not find a reason but there has been a dip in form for the team.

The accusations of inappropriate behavior from last year were investigated twice and he was cleared on both occasions.

Now being reported Horner has been sacked on Sky F1 Watch him turn up at Aston Martin.

It was reported at the time that Newey was unsettled by the allegations against Horner and that’s what drove his decision to move away from RBR.

According to Horner, their dip in performance since Newey ceased to be involved was nothing to do with Newey not being involved.

Make of all that what you will.

From the company statement:
"With his tireless commitment, experience, expertise and innovative thinking, he has been instrumental in establishing Red Bull Racing as one of the most successful and attractive teams in Formula 1."

Successful? Absolutely, amazing record.
Attractive? Hmm - I wonder if anyone outside of Verstappen's orange army thinks they're an 'attractive' team. I wonder if this might be part of the reason for getting rid of Horner - maybe an attempt to rehabilitate the brand? The Racing Bulls don't seem to suffer from the same image problem IMO.

Good call,

"Adrian Newey, regarded as the greatest designer in F1 history, resigned last year.

The accusations against Horner were a central part of his reasons for leaving, along with his dissatisfaction with the team, which he saw as other staff members trying to claim credit for what were his innovations.

Horner actively diminished Newey's role in briefings to the media as he tried to keep a lid on the internal politics."

just had a notification ....About time he got the push,I wonder if anyone will take him on.

Newey is a nice bloke with a reserved demeanour. How he worked for so long with Helmut, Christian, Jos and Max and the culture they created is a complete mystery to me.

Christian was certainly looking fairly grim when I said hello on Monday. I understand he has very recently lost a daughter to cancer. This was from a previous partner who he dumped in favour of a Spice when she was 8 months pregnant.
When you rise to the top, there is a long way to fall.

I think Horner has been vulnerable since he lost the support afforded him by Dietrich.
- Presided over RBR becoming the most toxic team in the history of F1
- Alleged unpleasant and unacceptable ‘workplace’ behaviour issues and associated negative media coverage
- Failed to win the Constructors title in ‘24
- Lost Adrian Newey, Jonathon Wheatley and other senior players
- Nowhere in the Constructors this year
- Car has dropped out of the window for anyone but Max, who is struggling in spite of outstanding driving
- Max (allegedly) in talks with Mercedes and no doubt other teams in order to secure a seat in a winning car

None of this will have warmed any hearts in Red Bull corporate. Had to go, though I thought it might have happened during the summer break.

I doubt he would. But Stroll Snr usually gets what he wants, and money talks;)
On the assumption that Newey would likely walk - again - if Horner were to be given a position in the same team, the question that raises is, "Who would be most instrumental in delivering success for the team, Newey or Horner?".

I suspect most of us have a view on that.

Given how well the Red Bull car has gone since Adrian left…

Though of course, he had nothing to do with the car

Yes he has not to sure but i think it has to do with his performance with red bull but I wander if its still something to do with that girl that got suspended time will tell

A good overall view here of why Horner has gone.
