Anyone want the auto box out of my 190 1.8 LE ?
I just fitted the 2.3L engine out of a W124 , which came with a gearbox attached , now that I have the 'new' box in the car and know it to be OK , I have no further need of the old one , which was working fine before I removed it .
The gearbox is currently still attached to my knackered 1.8L engine , but I will split it for ease of handling .
Before I weigh the gearbox in along with the knackered engine , I thought I'd offer it to anyone who might be in need .
Collection only from North Ayrshire - it should fit easily in the boot of most any car , once separated .
I've removed most of the ancillaries from the 1.8L engine ; still plan to save the water pump and rocker cover since the one on the 2.3 is a little tatty looking , but if anyone wants a 1.8L engine with head gasket problems , and probably head corrosion issues , that would also be free to collect ...
Although the combined lump is lying in my trailer just now , neither of my cars currently has a tow bar , so I can't offer delivery ; I do however have an engine crane here , so I can assist with lifting either or both items into whatever mode of transport anyone might turn up in !
