Hey guys,

Just had to change the front tyres on my 2009 E350 Cabriolet cos both inside edges was worn madly.

Garage said the Camber is knackered and i'd need to take it to a dealer to get this sorted ?

Is there a correction kit i can buy or something i can do myself to sort this ? Can't afford buying tyres every 10k miles thats crazy.

I believe the chassis is C207 ? might be wrong.

Thanks

Could be a number of reasons why your camber is out. Worn bushes, something bent, get a proper geometry check done by someone who understands MB camber issues.

How often do you do your tyre pressures? They often need a few more PSI to wear evenly. Tyre choice (Quality) plays a part as well as condition of suspension etc. 10k miles for a set of fronts is pretty normal.

Did they actually measure the camber?.....or just base it on the tyre wear....because in my experience incorrect toe causes more inner or outer edge where than camber. My mates track day MX5 has pretty high camber....but the tyres wear evenly on the street. ALFA 159 are well known for eating the inside edge of tyres due to too much toe out on the factory settings....most owners, like me, set the toe at zero....or just a trace of toe out....mine is the latter. Tyres last loads longer now.

Last tyres was Goodyear Assymetric 6

I check the pressures every month and always keep them at 33 or whatever the inside door panel says.

Full alignment was done on all 4 tyres. Guy said everything was fine except the camber which he can’t do nothing about. Said i should see a dealer.

But i googled around and heard abour Camber Correction kits

What does the Toe actually do ?

Could be a multitude of things wrong. Toe in/ out, camber angle, castor angle. You need a four wheel alignment doing by someone who's got the proper kit to find out what is going on.
Even A nasty pot hole can bend somthing out of line or just a worn bush on an arm.
