I know what you are all going to say, slow down on humps etc but in fact I do. So long story short, driver side almost never goes wrong - and i am a heavy b@stard. NS always goes off every 1.5-2 years. I could hear the NS making a knocking noise when theres free play and i had in mind to replace it but I was told not yet for a weird reason. Fast forward a few months, both sides make a cringe noise after a few minutes of driving. had it checked out and I was told its the suspension arms, but its beyond me why this is a situation every two years

Are you doing the work yourself? Are you torquing the large bolts on the two large main arms when the car is level on the ground rather than up in the air?

I go through a lot of speed bumps, yes. I dont do the work myself though

Speed bumps are probably the cause then . If another owner who does no speed bumps (similar mileage ) reports much longer suspension life then that would be more interesting information

Exploring the question asked in post 5, do you tighten the main bolts with the car on the ground and/or suspension in its normal position? If they're torqued up in the air with the suspension dangling at full extension, the bushes will sit in an excessively twisted position on the ground.

Will have to ask my mechanic
