Gas lifts on S20e

Notice the rear gas lifts on my S204 seem to open and close more slowly nowadays (much like myself...) Am I able to lubricate them in any way?

P. S. If so, would The same method work for me?

A quick squirt of WD40 behind the knees works wonders

I don't think a squirt of WD40 would do any harm as a first effort. As for the knees mine are beyond any such help.
