Following on from the 'my favourite city' thread. Gaudi's Barcelona is on tonight, 7.30, Sky Arts 1. I noticed several people chose it as their favourite.

I wonder if they'll make any mention of the marauding gangs of pickpockets, the large numbers of prostitutes openly touting for business and the filthy sea water down at the beach.

The OP said Barcelona, not London.

But London doesn't have an annual Festival of Sant Joan or "Night of Fire."

For the uninitiated, this involves heading down to the waterfront area of Barcelona and throwing fireworks (that sound like a car bomb exploding) in a dangerous manner around the streets. Or why not try sitting on a bench surrounded by the 20 empty beers cans that you've accumulated and setting fire to a pile of litter between your feet before collapsing in a stupor ?

High culture indeed.
