Does anyone know if there are 2 batteries on the W213? I have a 2016 E220d and 4 weeks ago i got the 'start engine - See owners manual' message. I charged the battery but then got the message again after 2 weeks. I then drove the car for about 30 miles and all was OK but now the message has come on again. Owing to the lockdown I'm generally using the car for only a mile or so to get to the supermarket every 4 or 5 days so the battery doesn't have much of an opportunity to charge. Im wondering though if there is a second battery that needs to be charged as I would have thought that fully charging the main battery 4 weeks ago would have kept it sufficiently topped up to stop getting the message.

Getting the same on my A35. Take it fir a blast, problem solved.

Charging the car as stated in the manual is sufficient. It’ll charge both batteries. Some models use a capacitor as the secondary battery, but that makes no real difference.

Take it for a spin. My New E class did the same. 20 mins on the motorway problem sorted.

I believe it is only one battery on the 213. As you say you have a charger, using that would save unnecessary driving.
