GLC 220 sports premium
Hi

My new (to me) 2018 GLC sports Premium seems to have suspension issues. It has a loud thud when it comes to a halt ( also sometimes when starting to move).

Steering can emit a loud groan at times when moving slowly

It seems quite noisy at the back also.

Have had two garages look at it ( One MB Indy and one local 'Prestige' car dealer - but no one can identify faults.

Anyone experienced something similar - any idea what could be wrong. I appreciate it has sports suspension but cannot believe it should be this noisy.

I am booked in at my local MB Main dealer next Tuesday for diagnostics at the extortionate price of £210/hr.

It could be one of a few things so an inspection is the right thing to do. It doesn’t have to be a main dealer. Any village garage or even an MoT station should be able to do this for less if the hourly rate at the main dealer you have booked is more than you wish to pay.

Hi when did you buy it was it a dealer or private

Bought from Car warehouse in Winsford (30 day warranty). Problem is you only have short road test and although one issue was apparent they were so busy they were unable to look at it themselves but did organise/pay for following: diagnostic at local Indy MB garage. Indy Garage said lower suspension arms were worn. These were changed to no effect. They have also commisioned my local 'Prestige' car garage to check car and they cannot find any obvious fault.
I am hoping that Main dealer has better diagnostic/ vehicle knowledge than Indy's.

A Mercedes independent in my experience is far superior to any main dealer

With the faults you identified plus their attitude to the repairs I am wondering why you bought it?

To be fair to the garage who sold the car, there is no mention of resistance to getting the work done, first with an MB specialist, then a prestige garage and now a main dealer. Fair play to them.

My 2018/19 glc 350 is showing signs of worn ' spring link arm ball joints ' . At around 35k . I changed both rear shocks at 28k the passenger rear was shot and banging . It's now on 40k , I've no knocks ,bangs ,taps from anywhere . Shouldn't take anyone with a bit of mb knowledge to find your issues tbh. Your problem might even be the brakes, or engine mounts.

Mines the glc coupe with sports suspension btw.

Thanks all

I'm hoping the Main Dealer will be able to correctly diagnose the issues.
