Hi guys,

About to order a new class.

Looking at a c200 amg line premium plus.

On the Mercedes online configuratior it says black pore wood trim is free but according to my dealer it's a £195 option? True?

I'm going for palladium silver with red interior.

Go for the black pore or standard gloss?

Avoid the gloss in my opinion, I test drove a demonstrator with gloss and it was covered in tiny scratches and finger prints, I went for black ash, looks great and you get a little analogue clock which sets it off nicely, yes it costs extra but in the grand scheme of things, its not that much. I got an AMG Line Premier Plus Estate which in my opinion looks better than a saloon in Brilliant Blue.
Here is a link to mine before I picked it up.

I had a demo with the shiny plastic and thought it looked cheap against the rest of the car and would easily scratch. However, it comes with the aluminium door trim which I really liked. I went with the dark ash which I think looks really good with Chrystal grey.

Sorry can't seem to email you.
I wanted a petrol this time after having a w204 C220 AMG Sport Plus previously, as I found the engine quite noisy even for a diesel. unfortunately the petrol was too long to wait, but after having driven the new W205 c220 diesel its so much quieter, and pulls like a train, and I got it in 4 weeks. The 250 would probably go even better but with the VW Diesel Hype, I would go for a petrol if I were you, resale would be better in the future.
Good luck with whatever you pick, you will love any of them.

Piano black and brushed aluminium looks great in my C220d AMG Premium Plus. No scratches and easy to keep clean...just dust it regularly. Looks very classy, not sure why folk think it looks cheap. The wood and the clock looks cool too, it's personal choice. Black more for the younger market and wood more for the maturer market perhaps

I have the Sport so coudln't go with the wood, although I probably would have if they offered it.. I can live with the gloss and the aluminim looks fab.

Glass looks brillaint in low light - nice reflection from ambient lighting.

You could argue though that the gloss is more 'sporty' which is perhaps why it's standard on the C63(s).

AMG - had the open pore with the IWC clock.

The black ash wood is free of charge now, you're dealer just hasn't been keeping up with his network news bulletins. It's much nicer than the gloss black

Hi Marlie,

black pore wood all the time for me! A few months ago I bought a C300 AMG line premium plus in Palladium Silver and IMHO the black pore wood interior is one of its best looking features.
I had posted a few pictures in one of my old threads:

With a red interior the black wood will look even more stunning.

Any button press will leave a finger print but I think even if you go for the mat wood finish all the buttons are still in gloss.

Absolutely ! I have Dark Ash and the plastic buttons are all smears

When I ordered my C350e back in April black ash wasn't even an option. Would of selected it if it was. Had the option of a couple of shades of brown woods or piano black as standard. At the time I felt the black piano trim was best considering I was sticking to Boggo black Artico. In hindsight I wish I had selected an alternative but I'm not going to lose sleep. Still very, very happy.

Black Ash every time for me. The Aluminium trim you get with the piano black does look good but I think the centre console looks great with dark wood and the analogue clock. Black Ash wasn't an option at the time when I ordered my C350e so have had to go for the Dark Ash instead.
For me it's more dust will show up more on the piano black so if that's something that would annoy you then the wood would be better in my opinion.

I now carry a duster in the car for a daily wipe. Not a big deal, seat belt on, start car, wipe the centre console and drive off.
