Going to lay the car up, where to connect the trickle charger?

Would the CTEK MXS 5.0 be the right way to go?
I would have said so, and I have two of them............................until I bought one of these, I think it feels far better quality than the Cteks and has features the Ctek cannot match.

Looks a good spec on those Noco's for me I'd probably be okay with a 2amp jobbie.

NOCO’s a great brand - excellent for jump start packs.

The reason I mention CTEK is that they’re used by every car private collector and car dealer I’ve ever come across.

But as long as you’re using a battery conditioner, rather than a simple “charger,” you can’t go wrong

Optimate are also very good.....much that same sort of thing. I went to them after having two CTEKs fail within 18 months.....but I think I was just unlucky as there is not much about CTEK failure online. I use the Optimate 10.

Thanks for the mention for Noco. Everyone rabbits on about Ctek, and I have been fretting away wondering if my Noko G3500 is any good - particularly as the C124 is hardly being used.

My G3500 is discontinued, having been replaced by the UK5 as per rf065's post. Note the fly leads for simple connection.

Quick update: MXS5 arrived, connected up to the under-bonnet terminals, charged to Program 4 (because cable was running out the window and it was bloody cold!). Car roars into life perfectly now!

2.5m extension cable arrived yesterday, so can now recondition the battery properly from the Garage. Why the **** CTEK don't include a longer cable is beyond me...

Thanks to all who responded 👍
