Good new S class review

Are you, by any chance, the driver of a Fully Loaded BMW 735i? :D

It looks like this car is also not going to be seen with the new V8 CDI engine?

I wonder if this engine will ever grace our shores in a RHD Mercedes-Benz?

The S-class is also reviewed in this months edition of Mercedes Enthusiast.

Regards,
John

:(  What about the R-class PLEASE....pretty please??

Thanks very much for the heads up. The two vehicles you mentioned will be awesome with that engine, but.......... Our next vehicle will probably be the R Class and the V8CDI would seem the perfect match..

When you go to work tomorrow could you possibly ask Herr Boss to consider making an S-class estate? This has always been a big want :o ;)

Regards,
John

Sorry, but to date, there has been no announcement that the V8 CDi engine will make it into the R-Class in LHD, let alone RHD.

Occasionally I bump into people who refer to the R-Class as the S-Class estate bu the only similarity is in size. The S-Class is a completely different level of luxury and technology. An actual S-Class estate is unlikely to generate the interest required to make production realistic.

:) Thanks very much for taking the time to respond. The S-class estate has always been a dream and no doubt that's the way it will remain.

Now that I have seen pictures of the actual R-class I am not that impressed. It's a very nice vehicle and it might sell, but to me it is not a traditional Mercedes-Benz. :o No doubt it is built in the US because I guess that will be where it will sell.

An S-class estate would be subtle, the R-class is.......... slightly less 'subtle' :o

Is it just the UK market that appreciates the benefits of the true estate car?

Thanks again for the reply,
John the Dreamer

The headlights remind me of a Mondeo or a Vectra :(
