Just thought I'd post a little story about good service from a dealer. This seems to be rare these days, especially judging by some of the nightmare stories posted in this forum.
My brother accidentally broke the Seat Height adjuster in the A Class at the weekend so his other half took it to the local Robinsons Mercedes Dealer in Peterborough on Tuesday.
She was very impressed at the service she received for starters, asked by 3 people if she was being served and if she would like a coffee while she waited etc etc.
The service department told her that the part would be replaced free of charge as its covered by a warranty. What warranty? I don't have a Merc Warranty. The car is a German import and was registered in the UK 1999 and as far as I know, wasn't extended by the last owner.
I can only assume that its a recognised fault as I've read in several reviews and forums that the drivers seat in the A Class are notorious for problems. They'll even fit it free of charge.
Not going to start singing in the streets just yet as the C Class is due for a service in a couple of thousand miles. Will have to wait and see exactly how good they really are then!
