I've just noticed that I need new tyres on my 210 E-class. Can anyone recommend somewhere in Cardiff? Merc owners generally seem to recommend staying away from the likes of Kwik-fit etc, and I've yet to find a good independent Merc specialist here, so not sure where to go.

Try Celtic tyres just off Penarth Road, good prices and good service. Watch 'em though when they balance your wheels that they stick the weights on the inside of the wheel and not use the hammer on weights on the outside of the rim - I had to remind then.

If you don't mind travelling a bit further, Newbridge for instance, I've used Phil Harvey Tyres, very cheap for Continentals, Scout Service Station, North Rd, Newbridge, Newport, Gwent NP11 4AB

For an Independant Merc Garage, I use Stuttgart Garage in Pontypridd. Give 'em ring, ask for Kevin (he's the owner) and tell him Giles sent you (the screaming should subside fairly quickly) Honestly though, he provides an excellent and honest service.Oh yeah, and I'm not on commission, honest guv.
