Morning all.
Admission time. I don't drive a Merc at the moment, I'm slumming it in a Jaguar for now but that will soon change, I've had Jags for the last 15 years or so and we currently have two: my X Type and the wife's E Pace. Prior to that I had a beautiful Tourmaline Green SLK230 (R170) that I had to get rid of for economic reasons. Those reasons no longer exist so I'm looking for another SLK. Ideally I would like a 64/65 1.8 petrol auto with black leather & red stitching. It must have a glass roof and fitted sat nav would be a bonus. Not really bothered about colour as long as it's not silver or white. That beautiful dark metallic red would do nicely but I don't know what it's called. I'm looking to spend 17/18k on the car because I think it will see me until retirement (single figures).
Question.
Are there any known issues with this car? What should I look out for? I had a fair few issues with my old one, such as Lambda sensor, fog lights, rear quarter window linkage, auto box sticking in first, etc. Have MB sorted these little niggles yet?
