Morning chaps,
Took my CLK across to Italy and on the way to Genoa there are some super winding roads in the hills. Slipped the car into manual change mode and gave it some through the tunnels. As I came out I realised there was loads of billowing white/grey smoke coming out of the exhaust. I slowed right down to 50mph but it kept coming out for about a minute. Then stopped completely. I pulled over and noticed it was also smoking from the back of the engine block and the smoke was coming up onto the windshield. Turned the car off for about 5 mins. Started it up again and no smoke from the exhaust or the engine bay. There was also a smell of transmission fluid too but have not noticed any change in shifts.
After that I drove about 200miles more with no problems until I got to the hotel and parked up.
Any ideas? It's a CLK 55 W209 Cab.
Thanks a lot guys
