Hi,
My 2004 C220 CDI footbrake is not releasing properly. When you release it via the handle the alarm may sound to say it is still engaged.
I think its just a spring but not sure.
Anyone help ?

Thanks

Have you checked the adjustment ?

The cable can be adjusted easily after removing a small metalplate under the back seat, also an idea to lubricate the mechanism at the sametime

Same issue with mine, thought it might be a return spring tension on the pedal or something.
I'd be interested in the fix too please!!

The compensator under the back seat partially seizes. Remove back seat base held in by x4 thirteen mil nuts. Lubricate compensator and force back all the way. Then operate back and forth while lubricating. Eventually it will return on it's own. Problem solved

There is also a black plate to remove as above

Thanks,

will give this a go at the weekend. :)
