Did I misread this? "360k low mileage"??? Anyway sounds like a glow plug relay module, had similar symptoms on mine and a new one cured it. Do you see a lot of smoke through the exhaust when starting it in the morning?

forgot to add the fact ive had a glow plug relay .. in the last few months no smoke when it starts yes 360k on a 58 plate im guessing its a injector issue will star tell me if i have one leaking back thats my thinking not sure though and im well into it now the only other issue the car has is the run flat sensor seem to aactivate around 80 mph and i restart the car and the fault is gone so im sure its just a simple thing

i have found a video on youtube where a guy fixes a faulty glow plug relay of a merc and look visually very similar if not the same of the e280cdi

here is the link, might be helpfull

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIid_eUT19w

one question, where is the relay located , is there anything needed to do before disconecting the unit to check internaly?
