Greetings all.

My R129 320 Has an Alpine CDA 9835 R head unit which is about 60W and sounds pretty good driving the OEM speakers. up until you want t give it the beans. then its a bit pony.

I'm 95% Sure the speakers are the missing link although a new head unit is probably on the cards as the Alpine is about 5 and needs a £100 adapter to play the ipod.

So.

Any suggestions for a decent head unit sound quality first and bluetoothed parrotts secondly ;-)

budgets about £250 ish..

help please y'all

Rob

I'm a big fan of the Sony BT head units.

Head units : Car audio : Sony

Quite a few are made for ipod and just work, the BT call quality isn't as great as say a dedicated parrot but it does the job on my ye olde MEXBT2500 unit (some suppoort external mics though).

Music sounds good on the stock W202 Elegance speakers but if you are a mad jungalist drum'n'bass massive choonz bruv type of chap infesting in a sub might be the way to go too.

I think the Becker units look great in the mercedes, and in fact thats what Mercedes fitted for a while

Becker do some lovely 1 din, navigation, ipod etc all in one units, and available in colours that match the car displays well.
