For a couple of months I’ve had trouble with my car and the engine not running right. After some advice from some of you on here and after taking it to my local garage the MAF Sensor was changed at a cost to me of £300. Genuine MB part fitted.
All was well for about a month, then the engine again started acting up (poor acceleration, no kick down) I took it back to my garage and reported the fault to be something like before when the MAF was changed. The guy at the garage then unpluged it and said “well it isn’t that”
He then had the car for a week and a half fitting different sensors to no avail. On Friday he finally gave in and took it, himself, to a Mercedes Garage and asked for a diagnostic.
After every thing, it turned out to be the new MAF being faulty, not broken but faulty, it was sending weird signals rather than no signal. My car was then fixed and tuned by Mercedes, fully valeted and returned to me, No charge!

Moral of story, don’t rely on new parts not being as faulty as the old one taken off.

Hope this saves at least one of you the same agro I have just had.

:)

Nice story and shows Mercedes honour their two years parts warranty without quibble.

Is there a reason you write in large type, it makes it difficult to read.?

Yes I cut and pasted the text from Word, easier and use the spell checker. (Yes I know there is one on here too!) Apologees, now edited
