Hi
I’ve noticed that many people mention the headunit protective film at some point behind to peel . Audio 10 / 20 certainly on CLKs, (and possibly other models?)

Once it starts, it there an easy way to speed up the process ? Jut pull? Gentle warmth (hairdryer?)
Ours has just started lifting in one corner and I’d like to fix it.

Is the unprotected face ok? - hopefully the film doesn’t hold it all in place!

Has anyone then used clear paint protection film to replace it? Or any other suitable film?

This was my saga a few years ago

Here is my original thread.

As mine was a basic Audio 20 (radio and single CD), and having read Wighty's thread, I concluded it made more sense to replace it with a more modern, much more capable, head unit, but not too modern or it would look out of place. See here:

(Pictures at post #38).

If anybody wants the Audio 20 it replaced to try their luck refurbishing the screen, £10 plus postage and it's yours. It's peeling a bit on the right-hand edge, but it's not too bad. It works perfectly, but I can't find a PIN code anywhere (if it needs one).

Second thoughts; free if you pay the postage.
