Hi, after driving only 40 miles the other day i noticed my left leg was getting really hot. I put my hand down and there is a metal part close to the parking break pedal which was very hot to the touch. Anyone got any ideas of what is causing this?

If you alter the heating vents away from the footwell does it still happen ?

What vehicle is this on?

Is it footwell only, with “normal” temperatures coming out at face / console level

(I’m playing for time here. I kind of remember something similar from a decade or more ago but I can’t pull it out of memory at the moment)

Not sure what 'the metal part' is ?

My brake foot pedal is aluminium and the only visible metal part down there , the rest is carpeted.

Photo ?
