The passenger seat on my W222 has been working fine until recently when it would work but the lights would go off after a few seconds. According to a scan the heat pad was over temperature. It works when next started and has been fine since, However, the drivers side started doing this last week where it would not stay on, but would after I returned to the car an hour or so later. Is this a common fault - it would seem module related rather than fuse?
I'll scan again and note the codes, but in the meantime any suggestions?

Thanks

My first thought was the battery too. Low voltages can cause all sorts of strange thing so best to eliminate it by charging the battery with a good quality battery conditioner like a CTEK MXS 5.0 which can charge the battery without removing it from the car.

The heated seats in my 212 have not worked since I bought it last September....I don't like them so didn't care.....but recently I fitted a new battery and they now work fine! The battery always started the car fine.....but lost voltage quickly and could never reach full charge on my charger. Check your voltage a few hours after switching of the engine.....much less than 12.5 volts could be an issue.

Battery is all good - passed a health check week 15v. The seats always work first time - happens when its switched on a few times after it auto turns off.
Just scanned and not showing any codes

That can't be right? 14.3-14.7v is the alternator's voltage (when the engine is running), not the battery's voltage. The battery voltage should be tested with the engine off, and it's unlikely to be more than 12.7v at best.

The engine had a thorough check by Anthony@GAD last week and he commented the battery was very good. He did mention 15v but I cannot recall if that was battery voltage. I've had no issues with anything battery related since ownership now over 7K miles
