Hi there, I would really appreciate a bit of advice if possible.
The car is a T reg C220 CDI estate. It's very flat, no real acceleration at all. I have changed the transducers at the front of the bonnet, also the maf. The car seems to hit a limiter or limp mode pretty often, which is literally the 3k revs marker.

Could I be possibly right in thinking that it may be the egr valve?

Mercedes want an arm and a leg for one of these, ecp and swedeutch don't stock them. Anyone have an idea

1. If it could be the egr valve causing it to go limp.....
2. Any other suppliers out there??

Thanks in advance,
Mike.

Diesels are not really me, but the EGR valve should be closed when accelerating and open when cruising light.

You could take it out and check that it is closing, if it is sooted up, then they can be cleaned, not worthwhile in the long run as the spring gets weak

Have a similar problem with my 220 CDI.Check the vacuum on the turbo actuator, like you I have replaced all of the sensors but turns out the actuator is leaking vacuum. This is the unit on the side of the turbo it isn't a MB part but you should be able to get one from a Garret dealer.

One other thing replacing the Precat made a huge difference to the performence of mine
