Greetings all from sunny Alicante.

I just bought an A45 amg (W176). The most modern Mercedes I've owned, early days but we aren't getting on at the moment! More of that in the appropriate section of the forum.
Previously owned an ML400 and an SLK55, many trouble-free miles in both but from a previous generation free from most nannying features. The A45 has impressive high-tech features but far from improving safety they are severely compromising it!

Hi, well the car keeps putting me in danger by going into what I can only assume is 'limp mode'. At the moment this happens the dashboard shows 'stability control disabled' or 'collision detection unavailable'. Diagnostics shows CAN bus comms errors to these modules. What I don't understand is why such drastic action is taken in that the car slows to about 20mph with no warning. By all means warn me these systems have failed to operate but losing them isn't in itself dangerous. What is dangerous is suddenly slowing down to crawling pace on fast (120kmh) busy roads for no good reason!

Greetings and a warm welcome ( Literally ) from me. I know absolutely noting about the more modern MB's but i do know quite a bit about the latest generation of EV Vans! Always getting weird warnings on the dash for no reason and occasionally the van has slammed the brakes on without warning whilst showing 'Collision Warning' on the dash ...... spooked by a wheelie bin on a corner!
