I need some help

I asked this a few times but no one seems to know

I cant post pictures for some reason on this site

My question is this....

In the rear arches

There are circle rubbers seals that plug in the inner wing

What are they there for ?

Ive been told their for the suspension access?!
Ive asked again an i keep getting the same answer

But it cant be the suspension

As the suspension is higher

An these holes are lower towards the front of the car

When the bungs are taken off

Theres just hollow gaps

Please help anyone

I can see tiny rust around these rubber plugs. So id like to seal them off by welding etc

But i dont want to block if their needed?!

Please help

Thanks

They're access points for cavity wax, some may have (or had during manufacture) other purposes too. Loads of them along with various drain holes scattered around any car... http://www.w124performance.com/service/w124CD2/Program/Chassis/97-150.pdf

Fix the rust, scrape off any other loose/damaged underseal in the area and then go nuts with some body schutz or stonechip* followed by cavity wax inside box sections/sills etc before replacing the bungs

* U-Pol Gravitex is a good one

Wow thanks mate....

Thats helped alot

So after cleaning all the rust etc...
I just spray into all them holes like crazy.... the more the merrier

Thanks for that mate

Youve saved my car for the future

Dont go to mad with cavity wax in case you need to weld up in that area at some time at a later date . I had a good cavity wax from an ebay seller .It came with a 24 inch spray nozzel you change on the spray can Remove the jacking bungs and get some inside and around the box section and jacking up area.
